Welcome to Bristol Bay Borough
Naknek, South Naknek & King Salmon, Alaska
The Bristol Bay Borough Chamber of Commerce's Mission is to advance the general welfare and prosperity of the
Bristol Bay Borough so its citizens and all areas of its business community shall prosper.
Bristol Bay Borough is known as the “Red Salmon Capital of the World” as well as the gateway to Katmai National Park and Preserve. Strong runs of returning Sockeye (Red) Salmon continue to make our borough part of the largest Red Salmon fishery in the world. In Spring and Summer you'll find the local landscape blooming with wildflowers and an abundance of wildlife, and in the Fall the tundra is a berry picker's delight with a variety of berries, including Lingonberries (Low Bush Cranberries), Cloudberries (Salmonberries), Crowberries (Blackberries) and more. Waterfowl, raptors and migratory birds can be observed throughout the Borough, and at times beluga whales are known to chase their dinner up the Naknek River. Bristol Bay Borough is located on the Alaskan Peninsula, in Southwestern Alaska on Kvichak Bay, a small arm of Bristol Bay.
